CLLD-First steps forward. Employment support. The CLLD project has been running at Rosmini since March 2019. Many of the participants are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or in emergency accommodation. We can help in a variety of ways, from running free lunches for homeless every Monday to Friday to running free online training to help those who lack qualifications. We provide participants with job support, we offer help with creating a CV, help filling out job applications and setting up an interview with the Job Centre to apply for a National Insurance number. Since starting the project, we have already seen many participants gain accredited qualifications, from fire safety to principles of customer service. To be eligible for training courses, you must be unemployed. You will need too attend a registration day at the Rosmini Centre and provide a passport and proof of unemployment. Our training courses are all online, so you can do them at home in your own time if you wish. You can also come to the centre and use our computers and we can offer support on your chosen course. We will be looking to run extra courses held at Rosmini Centre, to keep up to date with all available courses, please follow our Facebook page.
Social housing residents can face higher than average unemployment, so to help tackle this, the Increase VS project is a partnership between the University of East Anglia (UEA) and seven housing associations that aims to help residents get a job, start a business or become a volunteer. To evaluate the impact of this, my research focuses on tracking the experience of those who have completed, got involved or are simply interested in such training and could spare an hour to participate in a face-to-face interview with me in the Rosmini Centre, Wisbech. I will ask you about your life, your work situation, your neighbourhood and what you think of the training offered. All information that you may decide to provide me with will be treated with the utmost confidence and no names will feature in the published research findings. If you are willing to participate in this research, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01603 591283 to let me know when you would like to meet in the next couple of weeks or so. After the end of the face-to-face interview, youwould be provided with a £10 TESCO voucher as a token of appreciation for your contribution towards the research project. Please note that Covid secure measures will be in place and social distancing adhered to throughout the face-to-face interview.
